The usage of digital media is getting increase to help the work of people. Since, it can make the work easier by providing some very useful tools and software. I just read about the general characteristics of digital media and it can make me more realize about its characteristics.

The technologies developed so fast. It depends on how we use the technologies itself. If we cannot use it wisely so we only will get the negative effect. We also need to be more careful in browsing the resources in internet because if we do not know the rule of taking resources so we can be called plagiarism. It is a big criminality in education world so we need to avoid that.

Some software also can help the teaching and learning process. Nowadays, we can find some software for education purpose which can be used to make the learning process better. By using the technologies, like online media it can safe our time because the process can run directly and faster.

In this 21st century, we really need the technologies because it became a part of our life. Sometime, I think that maybe I cannot live without those technologies. This is the simple example, we all have mobile phone(s) and then it must be taken away from us. I am pretty sure that it would be harder for us in doing this life. The other example is when we use Powerpoint to present something to people then we have to try to grab their attention. It can help because there are some features that can make our presentation to be more interesting. So, we are the lucky people who can live in this century.

The 1st e-Reflection of PETA

The Third semester is becoming very tough for me because I have to face seven distinct subjects in this semester. Two last semesters could realize me that study in Sampoerna School of Education is different when I compared with other universities. Getting study here is more challenging and more interesting. Actually, I know all lecturers here but when I got list of lecturers who will teach me, I found some new name. One of them is Miss Iné who will teach Principles of Effective Teaching and Assessment.

After joining this course, I know that Principles of Effective Teaching and Assessment deals with teacher and how teacher implement effective teaching and assessment in the classroom. Then, my lecturer ordered us to mention my favorite and dislike teacher. So Miss Iné reminds me about my teacher who inspired me to be a teacher when I was student of senior high school. She is my awesome english teacher. She made me more confidence to be a teacher because she is the best teacher that I have ever had. She supported me all the time to study. She made me feel so comfort to be with her because she could create very good atmosphere.

I remembered a case, at that time I want to join a debating competition in central java level. I needed to prepare well because it was a huge event. So, I spent my time at school until 11 pm and she accompanied me to have preparation. Actually, she has a baby at home that needed her a lot but she took care of me. She made me realize that is being profesional is important in all conditions. No matter what the profession is, if you love your profesion just do it by your heart. She told me that the best profession in the world is teacher because in all our life we can give what we have to others and we can get it back even more. It is knowledge which is very useful thing and become our valuable wealth.

To be honest, I do not want to be a teacher when I was kid. Even, I really do not know what I want to be in the future. My dream changes every minute, sometimes I want to be doctor, next time I want to be a businessman, president and etc. My destiny guides me to be a teacher when I joined Sampoerna School of Education.

Thus, it is time for me to do my job that is to study hard to implement my dream to be a teacher. My expectations for this course are I could be teacher who can create the effective teaching and can increase my skill in assessing my students. Beside of that I hope to have a great journey in PETA course.

Individual Essay of Humanistic Studies

In my thoughts, Humanistic studies is about learning social awareness as human. We are social human that could not live alone but we have to live together with others. We are as the teacher candidates should be more concern about culture and social issues that happen in Indonesia. We know that Indonesia has various cultures, so that is way we need to be more critical about those issues. We are educated to be the 21st century teacher so that is mean we need to learn about diversity to anticipate about problem that is possibility appear when we teach someday.

My expectations for studying this course are being more respect with others because I believe that in differences, there are beautiful things which can be enjoyed. Actually, I have something in my mind that I need to ask. It is about making religion as one of topics. It is about something that is very sensitive to talk about. I just have worried to talk about it. It is a faith that someone believes so I hope this course could really work and can make SSE students become more solid. Besides of that, I hope that by having discussion deals with that sensitive issues can produce the high quality that can give new perspective about our differences.

Actually before joining SSE, I was a little bit conservative with someone that is different with me. I tried to avoid them in my life because I thought that the other religion only will guide them into the wrong direction. After joining SSE, I realized that it is totally wrong. SSE was taught me to see something from different point of view because someone can see something from different point of view, too. In this case, it will be better if we want to share our opinion with others. It does not really matter that we are different, different is a gift from God that we need to be grateful.

I have the weakness that sometime I could not have good relation with all my friends in section D. To be honest, section D has different atmosphere with my previous class. This class created the competitive atmosphere in learning process even I know that we are in SSE to compete with others. I just want to have a class which can create the fun learning, we can help each other in learning process but in the right way. So, that is my thoughts about Humanistic Studies.

Journal 1 for Technology and Second Language Teaching

Nowadays, technology is becoming a part of language learning. Gradually, people thoughts about learning changed to be more advance. Language teacher tried to engage technology as the modern way in teaching and learning. In Indonesia, we can only find the technology stuffs in international standard school which is actually the number of non-international standard school is larger. If Indonesia has good human resources and then this nation can’t provide the students those technologies so it means that Indonesia is not ready yet to produce the good students. We know that technology can help teacher to make the students get a better understanding because there are so many technologies which is created that enable to assist the implementation of a better learning process.

In the developed countries, there is no obstacle to implement those technologies because their government supported well to provide it. But for developing countries, there are so many obstacles in implementing that. For the example, the people are lack of knowledge about those complicated technologies so it will be hard to implement it in developing countries like Indonesia. Beside of that, the main problem in Indonesia is about how government can make the equal quality of education. Like we know that education in Indonesia has distinct quality in every area. The point is Indonesia still has many problems to be solved. Meanwhile, the usage of technology can be tried from the simple one and then to the complicated one until Indonesia was ready to use those technologies in teaching of second language.
